Hanging Lobster Claw (Heliconia rostrata)
Tropical Heliconia known for its dramatic hanging red bracts tipped with yellow and green, held above bold banana-like foliage. A great choice for adding a lush tropical look to warm, partially shaded gardens.
Current plants are not in flower
In my experience growing Heliconia rostrata here in Florida, this variety can tolerate more direct sun than many other heliconias, especially once established and acclimated. Established plants tend to flower most heavily from late spring into early summer
These plants are mature enough that I would expect them to flower next season with adequate light, warmth, moisture, and overall growing conditions
